Resumen

El presente artículo objetiva analizar la relación existente entre el principio del desarrollo sostenible y la actuación de la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC) a través de su Órgano de Solución de Controversias (OSC). El comercio, siendo un aliado importantísimo del desarrollo sostenible, es factor de la construcción de una sociedad democrática, justa y pacífica. Se hará una investigación descriptiva basada en el método deductivo en el levantamiento bibliográfico. Se demuestra, en este artículo la preocupación por el medio ambiente, así como la necesidad de aplicar políticas comerciales más sostenibles, forman parte, aunque tímidamente, de la dinámica de actuación de la OMC.
