RELATİONSHİPS BETWEEN MARİTAL SATİSFACTİON, PARENTAL BURNOUT, AND MENTAL WELL-BEİNG İN THE CONTEXT OF REMOTE WORK

This study aims to examine the multidimensional effects of remote work—a model that has become permanent in the modern workplace due to digitalization and the impact of the pandemic—on employees’ family dynamics and individual psychological well-being. Within the scope of the study, the correlational relationships between the levels of "Marital Satisfaction," "Parental Burnout," and "Mental Well-being" among remote workers are examined. Based on data collected from 412 participants working from home across Turkey, it was observed that among remote workers, there is a positive correlation between marital satisfaction and well-being, and a negative relationship between parental burnout and both marital satisfaction and mental well-being. Specifically among married parents working from home, a negative relationship was found between marital satisfaction and parental burnout, a positive relationship between marital satisfaction and mental well-being, and a negative relationship between parental burnout and its subdimensions and levels of mental well-being. The findings reveal that, in particular, an increase in weekly remote work hours and intensified parenting responsibilities constitute a critical risk factor for employees’ mental health.
