Abstract

A intensificação das pressões antrópicas sobre os ecossistemas brasileiros, especialmente por meio da poluição, do desmatamento e do uso intensivo de agroquímicos, tem produzido alterações significativas nos ciclos naturais, comprometendo a qualidade ambiental e a sustentabilidade dos territórios. Nesse contexto, observa-se o agravamento de processos como a degradação dos solos, a contaminação dos recursos hídricos e o assoreamento de corpos d’água, fenômenos que impactam diretamente a biodiversidade e as condições de vida das populações humanas e não humanas. Diante desse cenário, o presente estudo tem como objeto de análise os impactos da poluição, do desmatamento e do uso intensivo de agroquímicos nos processos de degradação ambiental e assoreamento dos ecossistemas brasileiros, considerando suas inter-relações e efeitos sobre os sistemas naturais. A partir dessa delimitação, a pesquisa orienta-se pela seguinte pergunta de partida: de que maneira a interação entre poluição, desmatamento e uso intensivo de agroquímicos contribui para a intensificação dos processos de degradação ambiental e assoreamento nos ecossistemas brasileiros, e quais são suas implicações para a sustentabilidade socioambiental? Teoricamente, fizemos uso dos trabalhos de Beck (2008; 2016), Blanco-Canqui (2008), Capra (1997; 2006), Carson (1962; 1998; 2010), Commoner (2014; 2015), Costanza (1997; 2014), Cronon (1991; 2003), Daly (1994; 1997; 2008), Diamond (2013; 2014; 2019), Ehrlich (1986), Foster (2000; 2020), Giddens (2000; 2010), Hardin (1973; 1986; 1999), Harvey (2021), Kirkby (1978), Klein (2000; 2008; 2014; 2019), Leff (1998; 2001; 2006), Leopold (1994; 2020), Lovelock (2000; 2009; 2019), Lynas (2007; 2011; 2020), Martinez-Alier (2002; 2011), McKibben (2003; 2007; 2010; 2019), Meadows (1972; 1992; 2004; 2008), Morton (2009; 2013; 2016; 2017; 2018), Nixon (2011), Ostrom (1994; 2005; 2015), Raworth (2017), Sachs (2007; 2009), Santos (2001; 2006), Schumm (2005), Shiva (2015; 2016), Smil (2013; 2017; 2019), Wohl (2010; 2014), entre outros. A pesquisa é qualitativa (Minayo, 2007), descritiva e bibliográfica (Gil, 2008) e como viés analítico compreensivo (Weber, 1949). Os resultados evidenciam que a interação entre poluição, desmatamento e uso intensivo de agroquímicos atua de forma sinérgica, intensificando processos de degradação do solo, contaminação hídrica e assoreamento dos ecossistemas. Verifica-se a formação de cadeias processuais interdependentes que ampliam os impactos ambientais e comprometem a funcionalidade dos sistemas naturais em diferentes escalas. Tais dinâmicas revelam implicações profundas para a sustentabilidade socioambiental, afetando serviços ecossistêmicos, economias locais e condições de vida das populações.
