Abstract

Este artigo narra a experiência vivida durante os últimos quinze anos junto às pacientes internadas na Colônia Feminina do antigo Manicômio Judiciário de Franco da Rocha, no Estado de São Paulo. A proposta de atendimento terapêutico utilizando cartas e fotografias nasceu dos inúmeros pedidos feitos pelas próprias pacientes e da necessidade de prover, minimamente, um cuidado humano para aquelas pessoas acometidas por transtornos mentais graves. Os referenciais teóricos utilizados foram à psicanálise de Donald Woods Winnicott e a filosofia de Lévinas, além de Walter Benjamin, Gilberto Safra e de fotógrafos brasileiros.
