The lead poisoning today is one of the environmental contamination of forms, and in addition to the natural background levels, the levels due to human activities, such as battery industry, automobiles, steel, fertilizers etc., with great potential for damage to living organisms. Based on published data, it was possible to facilitate the understanding of the environmental risk it represents. The lead contamination remains great, and grows more and more, and the legislation on the subject is still permissive. This scenario leaves room for the productive sector to work within the "limits" increasing the levels of lead in soil and water, contaminating the environment and aggravating problems in the food chain. The objective of this research is to show the lead of the risks to the environment and the health of living organisms by performing an analysis of the current legislation, exposing the main sources metal broadcasters, as well as pointing remediation alternatives for contaminated environments.Downloads
