Abstract
This study consists in a historical context about the international protection of the environment, which runs through an analysis of social factors and the set of conditions that resulted in the discovery of nature as an essential good for human life and the realization that it is urgent to protect. The study has a qualitative approach and methodology adopted consists fundamentally of literature. Through this approach, we propose a relevant consideration, the measure that by understanding the reasons that encouraged environmental concerns, it becomes easier to consider our own actions and assess how we can contribute, albeit individually, for the preservation of the environment.
