ACCOUNTABILITY IN DATA PROCESSING IN BRAZIL

This paper discusses the performances needed to improve accountability mechanisms in public management in relation to the current institutionalization of data processing systems, especially the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), in light of the needs for transparency, control, and accountability in public administration. The text highlights the importance of strengthening accountability mechanisms to ensure the efficiency, transparency, and responsibility of public managers, especially in the context of personal data protection. With the advancement of the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD), the ANPD plays a central role in regulating and monitoring the use of data, which requires public bodies to manage these data more rigorously and ethically, within a scenario in which the processing of personal data becomes increasingly relevant. The method adopted was bibliographical and legislative research, and the theoretical-deductive method of approach.
