ESTUDO GEOQUÍMICO E AMBIENTAL DA DISTRIBUIÇÃO DE ELEMENTOS POTENCIALMENTE TÓXICOS EM SEDIMENTOS DO RESERVATÓRIO DE TAPACURÁ, PERNAMBUCO

Os sedimentos constituem compartimentos importantes de retenção de contaminantes e registram, ao longo do tempo, mudanças associadas ao uso do solo e à dinâmica hidrossedimentológica das bacias hidrográficas. Este estudo avaliou a distribuição espacial e as associações geoquímicas de cádmio (Cd), cromo (Cr), cobre (Cu), níquel (Ni), chumbo (Pb) e zinco (Zn) em sedimentos superficiais do reservatório de Tapacurá e de seu entorno, em Pernambuco. Foram analisadas 56 amostras, sendo 12 obtidas no interior do reservatório e 44 em sedimentos de corrente da área circundante. As concentrações foram comparadas com valores orientadores do CONAMA, da CETESB e com valores ERL utilizados como referência internacional. A distribuição dos elementos foi representada por krigagem, e as relações entre as variáveis foram examinadas por correlação e regressão linear. As médias registradas foram de 0,50 mg kg⁻¹ para Cd, 23,79 mg kg⁻¹ para Cr, 12,96 mg kg⁻¹ para Cu, 10,26 mg kg⁻¹ para Ni, 14,27 mg kg⁻¹ para Pb e 36,26 mg kg⁻¹ para Zn. Embora essas médias tenham permanecido abaixo ou próximas dos valores orientadores, os máximos indicaram enriquecimentos localizados, sobretudo para Cd, Ni e Pb. Os mapas mostraram aumento das concentrações em direção à porção central-oriental e à zona de estreitamento do reservatório. Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb e Zn apresentaram correlações positivas elevadas, com destaque para Cr–Cu (R² = 0,8009) e Pb–Zn (R² = 0,7394), enquanto Cd e Ni mostraram associação praticamente inexistente (R² = 0,014). Os resultados não caracterizam contaminação uniforme, mas revelam setores de acumulação que justificam monitoramento geoquímico contínuo e investigação integrada das possíveis fontes naturais e antrópicas.
