Abstract

A Doença Inflamatória Pélvica (DIP) é uma síndrome clínica polimicrobiana decorrente da ascensão de microrganismos do trato genital inferior para o superior. Representando 94% da morbidade reprodutiva associada a infecções sexualmente transmissíveis (ISTs), a DIP é frequentemente subdiagnosticada devido à carência de um marcador diagnóstico de alta sensibilidade. O diagnóstico precoce e a instituição imediata de antibioticoterapia de amplo espectro são cruciais para mitigar sequelas graves, como dor pélvica crônica, gravidez ectópica e infertilidade. Esta revisão narrativa, fundamentada em artigos dos últimos cinco anos da base PubMed, analisa as evidências recentes sobre fisiopatologia, rastreio microbiológico e manejos terapêuticos. O tratamento padrão envolve esquemas combinados de cefalosporinas, doxiciclina e metronidazol, priorizando a abordagem sindrômica para preservar a saúde reprodutiva feminina.
