Abstract

O abscesso pulmonar é uma condição infecciosa grave cujo manejo envolve desde antibioticoterapia até intervenções invasivas em casos refratários. Esta revisão narrativa, baseada em estudos do PubMed dos últimos cinco anos, analisa as condutas clínico-cirúrgicas em ambiente de emergência. Os resultados indicam que, embora a antibioticoterapia seja a base do tratamento, a drenagem percutânea e a ressecção pulmonar (lobectomia ou pneumonectomia) são fundamentais diante de complicações como hemoptise, sepse persistente ou fístulas. Em pacientes críticos, o suporte com ECMO venovenosa e ventilação independente otimiza a segurança perioperatória. Conclui-se que o sucesso terapêutico depende de uma abordagem individualizada e do escalonamento oportuno entre o tratamento clínico e as intervenções cirúrgicas avançadas.
