BEING A FEMALE MANAGER IN ACCOMMODATION ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE TOURISM SECTOR: THE CASE OF ANTALYA PROVINCE

This study aimed to identify the challenges female managers encounter in accommodation establishments during their professional careers and advancement into management. A qualitative study was conducted with 16 female managers from six five-star hotels in Manavgat, Antalya, Türkiye. Data were collected through audio-recorded, face-to-face, semi-structured interviews. A phenomenological research design was adopted, and the data were examined through content analysis using MAXQDA. The findings highlight women’s professional experiences, representation in managerial positions, and career-related challenges in the tourism sector.
