THE TOYOTA PRODUCTION SYSTEM AND STAKEHOLDER THEORY: A LITERATURE REVIEW

This study aims to analyze the relationships between the principles of the Toyota Production System and Stakeholder Theory through an integrative literature review. It seeks to bridge the conceptual gap between the pursuit of production efficiency and organizational responsibility toward various stakeholder groups. The methodology consists of an integrative literature review conducted using the Scopus database, focusing on recent publications (2022–2026). The selected studies were analyzed using content analysis, enabling the identification of key stakeholders associated with each Toyota Production System principle and the organizational implications arising from this relationship. The results indicate that the application of lean manufacturing principles directly influences various stakeholder groups, contributing to improved organizational performance and institutional relations. The study concludes that integrating Toyota Production System principles with stakeholder management is a significant factor for organizational competitiveness and sustainability in dynamic business environments.
